Congratulations to Me!

I know I'm not supposed to post until homework is done, but when you get great news you have to share it.

So, congratulations to me! I am the first ever winner of the Allan and Suzan Payne English Scholarship. This is a $1,000 merit-based scholarship, and I am very excited and honored to receive this award.

The great thing about this award is that it is merit-based instead of need-based. That means that I didn't win it because I am poor, or because I happen to fit into the right demographic. I won because I am smart, and I am a good student. This money is a direct result of the work that I have put in to my education. It is also a result of all the encouragement that I get from family, friends, and teachers, so thank you to all the people that have helped me on my path to educational enlightenment.

Blog or Homework?

I'm very sad to say that this time it is the homework that must become the priority. So this will be my last post until some homework actually gets done.

On the plus side: I have decided to use posting as incentive to finish homework, and I have some really big posts to do. Most of them are on my family blog, but who cares? A post is a post right?

So coming soon: A research paper for Ed-Psych, and a post about baby showers; a research paper for Shakespeare, and a post about our new floors; and a rationale for Young Adult Literature, and a post about our third wedding anniversary.

I hope you are unable to contain yourselves as you wait!

Homework or Blog?

Blog, of course! I'm sure the seven page research paper that I haven't started yet, and which is due in 25 hours will write itself. Creating my own blog has put a lot of pressure on me to post. I don't know if I'm up to it, so for today I will respond to a tag from quite awhile ago.
